Lights

Last night a few of us went to Arbor Lodge Park to mess around with the ball and noticed at 10 that the lights went off. So first thing i did today was called parks and rec and asked them if they would let them stay on longer. We spoke to the super of the park and he is now looking into it. So for wed night polo this week and maybe next week we try to be at the court by 7 no later that will give us 3 hours of play time if we dont dick around to much. plus a friendly reminder for everyone polo meeting this monday at 7 30 not sure on the location but we will let you know soon. Now lets go play polo.

BIKE POLO

The Polo Haus wants to play more polo more days with more people. Please all of you come over when ever you want and play some polo with us. Tell your friends, family, and co workers that they should come out and play polo with up. ther will be another meeting Nov. 9th TBD and we will finish talking about fundraising for the next few tourneys coming up. The Polo Haus has a few new bikes that need to be put together for newbie players so please come over and put some elbow grease on those bikes with us.

Polo Haus Needs Donations of polo bikes for Newbie Players.

The polohaus needs donations of polo bikes. We need 26 inch Mtb bikes for our newbie players for our newbie polo nights that might be starting here pretty soon. But to get new people to play we need to provide them with a ride to play on. If anyone can help out the polo haus with this that would be great. The Axles of Evil does not have any money for this and would really like it to come with no strings attached. Please everyone and i mean everyone help us out this one is for the people.

Who wants a Mustache Ride?

Today only is the 4th annual Mustache Ride presented by the Polo Haus. The ride will start at 1:30 PM at Col Summers park and then work its way north to the Haus for the main event Twister Tourney. PLease everyone come and enjoy the amazing weather and great friends.

Thank you all for another wonderful Sunday Parkways

This goes out to all the players and spectators who came out to Col Summers park today to play and watch polo for the South East edition of Sunday Parkways. It was a wonderful time for everyone alot of smiling faces, cheering and heckling. There is word of a possible 5 days of Sunday Parkways next year and that means more days of polo for the community.

Sunday at Colonel Owen Summers Park

This sunday we will be playing in the final Sunday Parkways south east edition. Lets try to meet at the courts by 12, 11 would be best for all of us. if anyone needs there bike taken down there please talk to someone with a car as the polo haus will not find your bike a ride a couple miles south. same rules apply as last time lets keep it in a water bottle till 4 then after that we do what ever we want. this time we will have 2 courts to play on so one will be axles of evil court and the other will be for new people trying it out. i dont know if i forgot to say anything but lets go play polo.

South East Sunday Parkways

Today I received an e-mail from the promoter of Sunday Parkways and he wants us to play at Col. Summers Aug 16th. So lets get together and find a wa to get our bikes and gear to the courts. Plus this time we will be able to have 2 games going on at the same time and i know more people will be watching this event then the Alberta Park games we had this week. So once again the Polo Haus will present another last Thursday polo party in the street and dance party in the fun room. Party will start around darkish and run late i guess bring your own beer and dancen shoes. If you do not know where the Polo Haus is then to bad ask one of your cool friends they would know where the cool kids hang out. See you all tonight on the porch.

We need a new couch

Wanted new to polo haus couch the old one has been destroyed. If anyone may have a couch they are trying to get rid of that would be great the Polo Haus could really use it. Plus remember football season is just around the corner who wants to sit on our floor and watch football, BOOO.

So the weekend is finally over all the people have gone home the Polo Haus looks like crap but thanks to our MKE guests for staying till Tuesday and making us all dinner and cleaning the crap out of the house thank you. There was a huge party Friday night and went all the way till 430 in the morning. Sat. games were great alot of crashing due to a large amount of sludge on the courts.

Polo Haus Presents Welcome Ass Holes Party

Friday June 19th the Haus will be presenting the welcoming party for all the ass holes coming down for this weekends polo festivities. The party will start around 830 and go till late. Polo in the street music and beer will all be present all night long.

tomorrow night-Wednesday night June 10th at rose city, 62nd and Tillamook, aprox. 7 ish... be there or be a quadrilateral...or a triangle, whatever.

Cascadia 1 2 3

so the final day of polo in Milwaukee was great team Show Biz Kids had a hard bracket to play in today but managed a second place victory in the COG Invitational 2009. but the top 4 teams had a cascadian polo player in it but the top 3 teams were all cascadia with the seattle team who picked up a canadian player alexis and the player brian from milwaukee who played with eric and i took secong and of course your ballz deep took first but they were amazing once again. all i have to say about this weekend is CASCADIA.

Milwaukee Update.

Eric and i just finished our first day of polo here in the mother land of Milwaukee Wi. The weather was incredible the first two days of the trip then sat. turned for the worst and rained and also cold. lets hope today the weather stays up and we can relax and not get frozen watching games. all is good here and we will update after the games are over.

West Side Invite

So the whole Polo Haus will be making the trek north for the weekend in Seattle. There will be games all weekend long with Sunday being unofficial seeding for the big double elimination tourney. If you dont know the WSI has been held in Portland for 8 years now and this will be the first year that the WSI will be held in a different city other than Portland. The polo side if the WSI has only been held since 2004 and every year since the polo player numbers have grown. So with this being said i have a feeling this will be a very hard year of polo at the WSI. Good luck to all Portland Polo players in Seattle this weekend and to all the other players making the trek from other places to play in this years West Side Invite.

July 19th Alberta Park Sunday Parkways Polo Match

This year the Portland Bicycle Polo community will have the chance to play for over 1000 people. Portland Transportation is hosting this event and asked us if we would play for them during there event. The format of the matches is still yet to be determined if we play with teams or toss in all day. There will be a cap as to how many players will be able to play that day as well so if you feel you would like to play this day please leave a comment or talk to Drew. If anyone wants to help with the event as well please feel free to do so.

Polo Meeting Tuesday

Dear everyone there will be a meeting to discuss the sunday parkways activity coming up in july please bring your ideas and positive impute to the meeting do get this discussion over with. i have contacted the man in charge of sunday parkways and would like to e-mail him a wants sheet things that we want for that day along with future plans for our fair polo city like a lit double court for us to play at or even get our name out there with a good positive pro look to our selves. the meeting will start at 730 meeting at the polo haus. see you all there

Lets play polo saturday

My freind Kelly will be in town and we want to play a little polo on saturday. I am think afternoon time maybe or even do a polo tour bike ride some where to play. Go check out some new cooler courts out of the area we normally play who wants to play. i have a few parks i would like to ride to as well they are listed in an older post from a month or so ago check them out.

Emerald City Here We Come!!!

The Axles are getting together with Seattle this weekend. There are two ways you can get there. The first take the train with Eric and Drew at 5:30 on Friday and get to Seattle by 10 PM. There will be a group leaving on Saturday morning from the Polo Haus or Kens house in the early early AM to make sure they arrive early enough to get great games in. Now how do you get back to Portland when we are done, well the van heads back south after breakfast Sunday morning to make sure they have time to play polo back at the Alberta court. Also there is the train to get you back Drew is staying till Monday morning and is taking the train home and will be back by 11 AM Monday morning if anyone else is interested in tagging along with us please come and play great polo in Seattle with our great friends of 206. Plus we will be treated with a guy from NY at the courts on Saturday.

So Drew is wanting to go to Seattle on the weekend of April 25th to play polo with the Cascadia Crew. Really all i am looking for is a ride there and back maybe i really have no friends with cars. If anyone can help me out with this that would be greatly appreciated. We would have a place to stay and plenty of polo that weekend to get in. Lets get this ball rolling so we all can play hard up there. 

what a new court

11 of us showed up last night to check out the new court and what we came up with was we are going back but we need to bring brooms and wire to clean the court and fix the fence holes where we had alot of loose ball action. the lights worked great till after every hour they would shut off on us next time we will press the button 100 times. the games were slow and slick but fun and wet. i am thinking of a after work night fixing party next week some time whos in?

Dear readers we need to make some new mallets for polo seems to me that people are complaining that they dont have a mallet to play with these days well your in luck we are hosting a mallet making party on tuesday evening at the polo haus. all you need to bring is beer and hopeful ski poles we got most everything else you need on the mallet making list. hope to see you all there should be fun.

New possible wed nite court

I went on a recon mission tuesday night out to the rose city park to check out the tennis court there. what i found when i arrived at 9 ish was two gentlemen playing tennis but they were not very good at all. the lights stay on till 12 and there is no houses within 100 feet of the court or at least out of shouting distance. it took me 24 minutes to ride my polo bike there from the polo haus doind a little dinking around on the way there. Wow what a Sunday, we had a great turn out with new people and alot of regulars as well. The weather was great for the most part the court saw its self some hail along with thunder and lightning. Games were played from noon all the way to 7:30.

There were plenty of good games going on alot of self take outs I hope Jason is ok after that fall we had the return of Todd Danger back form vacation.

I am pretty sure this is legal. Great way to be a good sport Eric.

What happened to Wednesday Night polo

Where in the hell are we going to play on Wednesday nights. Another park with lights or a parking lot somewhere is there any ideas to where we should go. The Axles of Evil need a place to play wed. afternoons. We are looking into all new and old outlets to get this mission accomplished. 

We need a new Wed. night court

Dear readers we are now in the time of year when we have to fight the tennis players for our courts. So what i am asking is i need your help all of you to find  a new wed night court to play on. Please everyone help the Axles of Evil find a new weeknight court. anything helps.

Axles of Evil Team Nights

This is a posting for a good night that everyone who wants to work on there advanced polo game. i am thinking of a weekday night some time 3 to four times a month when we get together and talk polo and practice polo make plays formations whatever the hell we want and i am also looking for places to do this as well let me know i do know that PSU will start games up pretty soon and they play tuesdays at there tennis courts i like to go to that and help them out let me know comment i need your help to start a team night.

Polo House Clean-up

We got a visit from the landlord today. He was not happy. The pump track has to be leveled, as well as the yard totally cleaned up. We're gonna need lots of help as he gave us two weeks to complete, or we get our final notice. How about tomorrow, Saturday we have a work party and get this going. This is not something we should put off at all.

Saturday: Pier Park
7 AM - meet at court to assemble the boards and resweep the court
9 AM - registration opens to everyone - $10 a head / $30 a team
10:30 AM - registration closes and tournament rules are reviewed
11 AM - first games begin
6 PM - its almost to dark to play - alternate ending location if needed
6:30 PM to ??? - breakdown/cleanup of event location
8 PM - Drinking and shenanigans, location TBA

Sunday: Alberta park
8 AM - meet at the court to setup for days events
10 AM - first of the finals games starts
we play till there are no more games to be played.

Side note to all participants
-Please bring a cup or bottle to put your beverages in due to park police and city police. There are restrooms open at pier park which MUST be used by everyone. They are located a distance away but the park is beautiful so enjoy the ride.
-There will hopefully be food/drink on both days for everyone.
-Please remember you are visiting the NW and it still is winter time and we get rain here alot. Please bring dry clothes and a rain jacket/pants/socks. We want you to have a good time not a wet time.

Polo Haus

Cleaning Party

Today Ringer, Mason, Tiah, Jerry, Wheelie, Brent, and Drew all went out to Pier Park to sweep the heck out of the court in anticipation of next weekends tourney. It was blistering work with 6 brooms and two leaf blowers it took seven people 3 hours of labor to get 70 percent of the moss off the court. Also Polo is at Pier Park tomorrow with brunch at the polo haus at 10:30 to when we get enough people to play wheelie will take your bike no matter what so be at the house early to ensure quick departure. thank you everyone who is helping this tourney become one of the funnest tourneys for Portland history thank you.

Pier Park Court Cleaning Party

This saturday Feb. 28th at 10:30 meeting at the polo haus to caravan out to the court to clean it. We purchased 3 fresh brooms to clean the court along with two leaf blowers and what ever else we have to clean the court. Ringer, Wheelie, and Drew all went out to the court friday to asses the situation on cleaning the court, what they came up with is its really slick out there. they also did i recon mission to a new location but all relized that it was a bad idea due to being sandwiched between kid play toys. but a sweet court at that. will see all of you this weekend or next at the championships.

Micro Pump

The rain has been a damper on the whole pump track but that means we get to work on the pump track. We want to build a new line in the middle to change directions and then make an outside line between the track and the shed. March 6th the polo haus is having a party to welcome all the out of towners and to have people over to ride the pump track and play polo in the street. I hope to see all of you here at the track to help make it a even more fun track to ride with multiple lines to ride.

Polo Haus needs a digital camera

We need a camera so we can document all the crazy shenanigans that happen here. If anyone has one to donate or sell one for cheap we would all love it so much. I still need all of you to come ride the pump track more we ride the faster it gets, think about it polo pump track train.

Big Banks

Pump track phase 2 completed make the berms higher and mission accomplished from our heros Eric and Tristan. They used the wonderful afternoon weather and daylight to complete phase 2. But in the mean time everyone else played polo, great turn out we had Seattle, Vancover Bc, and a lot of new Portland members. We all can't wait till the summer days come to dry out the track  and start pumping.

Pump Track Phase One

This evening at the Polo Haus we got together with the room mates Brent, Ringer, Tristan, Jerry, and Drew along with our friend and fellow polo player Jacki along with portland own Eric with the forman work, we all dug a bunch of holes to make this thing happen tonight. Thank you to all of you for your help. The only thing holding us back from making a for real pump track it faster dirt it seems to be really muddy in the corners. Please look for updates on this such as photos and maybe video Mason im looking in your direction on that one. The real goal of this is to get a huge train of polo bikes going around on the pump track lets make this a reality please all of you come out and ride with us.

Oregon Bicycle Polo Championships Meeting

Today was a great turn out at polo. we had a fours game, helmet cam action, along with a sound system. People seemed pretty pumped about the weather changes and up coming tourneys.
